We started the match with 9 players for the 1st time in a long time, as we have now signed a new player to the team.
Binfield were strong, yet our defence and midfield really battled away and made the game a really good match to watch for both sides. There were a few chances for us in the 1st half and more later in the 2nd half, but overall Binfield made the most of a few quick breaks and a good 1st goal that set them on their way. Cameron had a shot on target saved and our keep Oscar made some really vital saves at the other end.
Tom had a great game and was named Player of the Match, particularly as he hadn't been well and possibly wasn't even going to play. Our newest payer, Yanis, showed real potentional and always fought back when he lost the ball. With more training session I am sure Yanis will become an important part of the team.
All of the team showed real spirit and both Nick and I were really pleased with their performance. We played a more defensive minded team, to try and stop the goals we were letting in. I think the 3-1 loss was easier to deal with and the boys still came away in fairly high spirits.
We are now buidling a team ready to take some consistent wins, so the more support we can get the better. Looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday.
Cheers
David
